Meet the Artist

Kelly Boyett

Louisiana native and self-taught artist Kelly Boyett was born with an insatiable appetite for creative projects of any and all kinds. She reflects her love for the vibrance of southern culture, music, architecture, and people throughout her present work. Boyett does not like to categorize her style, rather she considers it “expressive organized chaos”. Many of her paintings give a subtle nod to a Where’s Waldo type of setting, and it has been said that one can simply feel the energy emitting from her pieces.

Boyett has been specializing in live-painting performances for the last decade. When she is not on-site somewhere slinging paint, she is flexing her creativity in her Mid-City studio, as well as taking every opportunity to travel, inspire, and disperse her art.

Boyett works in many different mediums, -acrylic being her weapon of choice- due to its versatility and speed of work. She does not however limit herself only to painting. With a passion for wood-working as well, Boyett prides herself as a “Jill of all trades”, and brags about her tool collection often.
