Volunteer for the Bayou Boogaloo
April 23rd, 2007 by Alan GutierrezA photo of you, me and everybody, at the 1st Annual Bayou Boogaloo.
Volunteer for the Bayou Boogaloo. We need volunteers to help us set up, tear down, and carry stuff around. If you ever dreamt of listening to live music while you shlep ice, this is the moment you’ve been waiting for. You can tell the world you’re going to volunteer by leaving a comment in the comments section of this post.
Here’s how you can help.
- Set up: Place the trash cans, signs, parking pylons. Pitch tents and booths. Move chairs and tables. Have an all around good time.
- Safety: Greet people as they arrive. Ask them to leave their coolers behind. Keep the kids from playing with shiny audio equipment. Know the no-no’s and nag accordingly. Have an all around good time.
- Tear down: Empty the trash cans and gather the signs. Fold the tents and booths. Stack chairs and tables. Have an all around good time.
Again, you can let the world know you’re on board by leaving a comment. Or else you can send email to jared@mothershipentertainment.com and we’ll add you to the growing list of volunteers.

hey Jared,
Dar here at 625 Hagan, and Musa and Veda and I want to talk with you about using our parking lot for volunteers and musicians, so we can control the trash and problems, while still helping this great festival.
If you can-Signs would be neccessary and a simple paper permit that will allow us to kindly keep it for working folks for the fest.
What we were thinking was if a few corplast signs are possible and a paper parking permit given to the vols and musicians, I am sure they would appreaciate the good parking!
We can police the trash on our side to help; I assume there will be garbage cans for our side so we can do that.
If there is anything else I can do to help, please ask and I will see if I can accomodate.

Darlene, Veda, and Musa,
We appreciate the offer and accept. Then, I assume it’s OK if the boogaloo trailer appears every now and then for a pit stop. Signs are being printed as we speak. I’m also looking at having a private security on the lot for the peak hours.
My number is 504-460-5957, call anytime.
