2015 Bayou Boogaloo Art Market Applications

New Orleans, LA - The MotherShip Foundation is happy to announce that we are now accepting art market vendor applications for the Tenth consecutive Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo Festival. Situated on the banks of Bayou St. John, (where Moss St intersects Orleans Ave), the Boogaloo Art Market has enjoyed crowds of up to 35,000 people who come out to this free festival.

Geno Delafose

At this year's Bayou Boogaloo we are proud to present Geno Delafose. Mr. Delafose (born February 6, 1971 in Eunice, Louisiana) is a zydeco accordionist and singer. He is one of the younger generations of the genre who has created the sound known as the nouveau zydeco. His sound is deeply rooted in traditional Creole music with strong influences from Cajun music and also country and western. His father is the famous zydeco accordion player John Delafose.

Lynn Drury

Lynn Drury's compositions are as rich and full of visual imagery as life itself. Often autobiographical, each song is carefully crafted around its initial inspiration, ranging from love and loss to beauty and butterflies. Her sound combines the twang and grit of her native Mississippi and the funky grooves of her adopted home of New Orleans. We've got Lynn at the festival. Don't miss her.

Feufollet

Deathbed ballads meet glockenspiels and omnichords. Cajun French choruses are written on iPhones. Indie-rock vibes invade Acadian archives. Welcome to the world of Feufollet, a band both deeply rooted in the francophone soil of Louisiana and pushing boldly into unexplored yet utterly natural varieties of Cajun experience. Come out to see this groundbreaking band at this year's Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo.

2009 Bayou Boogaloo Highlights

The 2009 Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo was Louisiana's first green music and arts festival with Solar powered stages, Bio-Diesel generators, locally grown and organic foods, a comprehensive recycling program and sustainable living and coastal restoration education. As always the Festival was a family-friendly event with a kids stage and games and activities for children.

2009 Bayou Boogalooers took part in delicious food, cold beer and libations, listened to great local music, and enjoyed the very best art that New Orleans has to offer.

Soul Rebels Brass

One of the most prominent brass bands to hail from the Crescent City in recent years, the Soul Rebels bring together the sizzle of old school soul, the swagger of modern day hip-hop and the spirit of tradition brass. Their talents have taken them on tour the world over, and their all night romps at Le Bon Temps Roulé have made them favorites here at home. Their music is fresh, funky, visceral and vibrant - the true spirit of New Orleans.
